Positive Discipline in the Classroom
Positive Discipline in the Classroom: Building Respectful, Responsible, and Emotionally Safe Learning Environments
This course focuses on promoting positive discipline practices in the classroom that support students’ emotional development, responsibility, and respectful behaviour. Participants will explore practical strategies for managing classroom behaviour without punishment or fear, while fostering cooperation, empathy, and self-regulation among students.
The training introduces evidence-based approaches to discipline that strengthen teacher–student relationships, reduce disruptive behaviour, and create a safe and supportive learning environment. Participants will learn how to set clear expectations, respond to challenging behaviours constructively, encourage accountability, and promote problem-solving skills in students.
The course also addresses the emotional needs behind behaviour, helping educators shift from reactive discipline to proactive classroom management. Through reflection and practical application, participants will develop skills to maintain consistency, fairness, and emotional balance while guiding students toward responsible decision-making.
