This practical and interactive course equips educators and school leaders with essential coaching skills to foster growth, strengthen relationships, and create supportive learning communities. In today’s dynamic school environments, educators are expected to do more than teach; they are called to guide, support, motivate, and empower students and colleagues.

Through experiential activities, real-life scenarios, and guided practice, participants will develop the confidence and tools to lead meaningful conversations, support professional development, and respond constructively to challenges. The course promotes a coaching mindset that encourages reflection, responsibility, and collaborative problem-solving within schools and organisations.

Training Overview

This course provides participants with practical coaching strategies and tools to enhance communication, collaboration, and leadership effectiveness in educational settings.

Target Group

Teachers, school leaders, headmasters, teaching assistants, school counsellors, administrative staff, and other educational professionals working in school environments.

Methodology and Assessment

The course follows an interactive, participant-centred methodology that combines theory with practice. Training includes workshops, group discussions, role-plays, case studies, coaching simulations, reflection activities, and continuous formative feedback to support skill development and professional growth.

Certification: 

Participants who attend at least 80% of the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Day 1 – Introduction to Coaching and Building Foundations

  • Understanding the role of coaching in school leadership

  • Exploring the differences between coaching, mentoring, and managing

  • Building trust and psychological safety in coaching relationships

  • Introduction to the coaching mindset and leadership presence

Day 2 – Core Coaching Skills: Listening and Questioning

  • Using powerful and open-ended questions

  • Practising empathy and emotional awareness

  • Applying coaching conversations in real-life school scenarios

Day 3 – Coaching Models and Practical Application

  • Introduction to the GROW coaching model

  • Setting clear goals and expectations

  • Guiding staff through structured coaching conversations

  • Practising coaching skills through role-play activities

  • Supporting professional growth and performance development

Day 4 – Managing Challenges in Coaching

  • Handling resistance and difficult conversations
